About the service
The Access Team is the single point of contact and access for all Trust services. It provides 24/7 cover for all mental health services across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.
The team provides the following:
  • Qualified health and social care staff who work together to provide assessment, advice and sign-posting to support recovery and promote wellbeing
  • Support for individuals and referrers to assist them to get access to the right services
  • Support for people with mental health illness who are experiencing difficulties when the stability of their mental health has been interrupted by crisis.
  • The team operates an open referral system which means, if you are concerned about your mental health or that of someone you care for, you can contact the team directly.
The team also takes referrals from other professional groups, such as GPs, health visitors, A&E and police.
If you have a hearing impairment and are unable to utilise the telephone, you can text the Access Team on 07739 775202 and the team will respond as soon as possible (please note: this text service is available during the normal service hours and is charged at your network provider's rate).
PLEASE NOTE: As part of the Trust’s commitment to make it as easy as possible for our service users, carers and visitors to access and use our Harplands Hospital services, we have introduced a new camera controlled car park management system on the hospital site.
