Hear from colleagues across Combined this International Women’s Day

We spoke to a collection of colleagues and staff across North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare about their answers to the question ‘What does International Women’s Day mean to you?’.

We received some great responses and Lesley Faux, the Diversity and Inclusion Lead, at the Trust shared the below:

“International Women’s Day is important to me because it is about celebrating women’s achievements and working to get closer to true gender equality. A world where women aren’t side-lined, devalued, or downplayed. It is about raising women up to the same level. And that includes trans women too. I was interested to learn recently that IWD has been celebrated for more than 100 years! Hopefully we are much closer to reaching equality now than we were then, but there is still clearly more to do while the NHS gender pay gap is at over 15% and where almost 50% of NHS senior leaders are female, but almost 80% of the workforce.”
