Learning Disabilities Team Shortlisted For Three RIDI Awards

Congratulations to the Learning Disabilities Team who are finalists in three categories of the prestigious RIDI (Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative) Awards 2021

The team has been shortlisted in the ‘Inclusive Recruiter of the Year’, ‘Getting Started’, and ‘Making A Difference – Public Sector’ categories for its Experts By Experience initiative. North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust’s four Experts By Experience advisors joined this summer, and the project is focused around supporting people with LD into NHS employment.

“We are absolutely thrilled to receive this recognition for the Experts By Experience Advisors,” said Jessica Fitzgerald, Consultant Nurse, Learning Disabilities, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. “The four advisors who joined us are making a significant impact and difference across the Trust through their contribution to our communication, recruitment, training and service improvement initiatives at Combined Healthcare.

“The dedication of the CLDT to transform their recruitment processes and support individuals into work really does deserve to be applauded.

“I hope that by showcasing our achievements we inspire others to also recognise the value and necessity of LD Expert by Experience advice in the public sector, and follow suit.”

“We’re exceptionally proud of being shortlisted for these awards,” added Sarah Mountford, Head AHP, Clinical Lead for Learning Disability, and Team Leader for the Community Learning Disability Health & Health Facilitation Teams, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. “All of the team involved in this project have worked hard to support our Experts By Experience to settle into the Trust, with much hard work behind-the-scenes.

“We are continuing to work in co-production with our Experts and we are very proud of our work with NHS England to develop resources that will benefit other Trusts to follow us in ensuring we create meaningful opportunities for Employees with Learning Disability.

“Thank you to everyone involved across the Trust an excellent example of team work.”

The awards ceremony takes place on Friday 3 December 2021 – good luck to the team!
