Memory Clinics sponsored walk for Dementia Action Week

Colleagues from the Memory Clinics are undertaking a sponsored walk on Saturday 22 May 2021 to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society, as part of Dementia Action Week (17 – 23 May).

The walk will be from Froghall along the canal to Consall in the Staffordshire Moorlands, and back, and was arranged by Amy Parris and Jess Corden, Memory Nurse Practitioners.

“Normally we would have events with our fellow support agencies and in our clinics to raise awareness of Dementia during this week, but due to government pandemic guidelines we are doing some different events this year mainly with social media,” said Deborah Scragg, Memory Services Lead. “Amy and Jess came up with the excellent idea however of holding a sponsored walk, suitably socially distanced and in line with current guidelines.

“We also thank Rachael Birks, as her sister is kindly crocheting Forget Me Not brooches for us to wear which is the recognised Dementia flower.”
