Locality working is on track - don't miss out on having your say
This was a week of further progress across a whole range of our strategies - both internally in Combined and across the North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent area.
LOCALITY TRANSFORMATION UPDATE
Phase 3 of our restructure is still underway with the consultation process starting on Monday 16 July - with much interest and views.
This process involves all our Clinical Leads, Service Managers, AHP, Social Care and Psychology Leads and Quality Improvement Lead Nurses. The phase continues to focus on our consultation with staff regarding the management structures within each of the four newly established Directorates.
Our aim is to truly design our new structures in collaboration with our staff and have already taken into account feedback received and the advice to refine elements of the structure. Q AND A SESSION WITH EARLY INTERVENTION TEAM
One of the things I really look forward to is the Q and A sessions that both the Executive and Non-executive teams do on a monthly basis.
Last week my myself and Patrick Sullivan, one of our Non-Executive Directors went to the Hope Centre to meet with our Early Intervention Team. It was a really positive visit with the most enthusiastic and committed group of staff who so clearly lived our Proud to Care Values. We discussed how they would work alongside our new Locality structure and their ideas for expanding peer support approaches and nurse prescribing.
I always enjoy these sessions as they give us an opportunity to see and hear direct from front-line teams about the services they are delivering and how we can help them.
NHSI BI-MONTHLY MEETING
On Tuesday, our latest progress review meeting took place with NHS Improvement. The Executive team discuss with NHSI as our regulator the Trusts progress including performance, quality and finance.
We also discuss things that we are concerned about e.g. the section 75 issue with the County Council and developments such as the substance misuse procurement and the primary care partnership. We were also able to update NHSI on our continuing implementation of locality working and our journey towards outstanding.
The STP system leadership/ Organisational Development workstream meeting was very positive last week. This is a meeting that I chair and where we have decided that our main priority is going to be supporting the development and implementation of integrated locality working across Staffordshire.
We have expanded the membership of the workstream to include members from the EPCC workstream and the CSU strategy unit who have recently completed work on reviewing and advising on our locality working.
We are really keen to learn from other areas of the country and use all the collective resources we have across our respective organisations. We have an enormous communication and engagement task that we will need lots of ambassadors for!
