Combined Healthcare recruiting now for exciting new psychiatric intensive care unit

Nursing staff are being called on to join North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust as it prepares to launch its new state-of-the-art psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU).

When people require intensive psychiatric care it is important the specialist treatment they receive is delivered quickly and as close to their home as possible. The £2.4m six-bed facility links directly to the acute adult wards at Harplands Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and is due to open in April.

It will be able to accommodate both male and female patients and will include activity rooms, therapy rooms, individual en-suite facilities and a therapy garden.

Combined Healthcare is recruiting now for a range of roles for this exciting new service, including a Band 7 Ward Manager to lead the team.

The posts available are:

Ward Manager – Band 7

Deputy ward managers – Band 6

Registered Nurses – Band 5

HCSWs – Band 3

The shift times are:

Long day:            0700-2000           12 hrs with 60 min break

Early:                    0700-1415           6 hrs 45 min with 30 min break (0700-1500 if on short  shifts)

Late:                     1245-2000            6 hrs 45 min with 30 min break (1245-2045 if on short shifts)

Nights:                 1930-0730           11 hrs 6 min with 54 min break
