NHS Confederation Chief Executive, Mathew Taylor to be Special Guest at REACH 2022

We are delighted to announce that Mathew Taylor, NHS Confederation Chief Executive, is to be our Special Guest at our upcoming REACH Awards on 10th November

Matthew joined the NHS Confederation as Chief Executive in June 2021 and is a high-profile public figure with a distinguished career at the heart of public policy for the last 20 years.  He is a former Chief Adviser on Political Strategy to Prime Minister Tony Blair, and he also ran the Institute for Public Policy Research for four years. He is a widely known commentator on policy, politics and public service reform and regularly appears on national media programmes, including as a panellist on BBC Radio 4’s Moral Maze. He was also commissioned by the Conservative Government in 2016 to carry out an independent review into modern employment practices.

Matthew started his career as a health policy researcher in the West Midlands.

Matthew brings a remarkable depth of experience at the heart of government and public policy and is a compelling advocate for the NHS as it faces the challenges of recovering from the pandemic and delivering better health for all the communities it serves.

Trust Chair, David Rogers, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Mathew to REACH 2022 – our annual showcase of achievement and dedication to our continuing mission to be Outstanding in all we do and how we do it.  We are really proud of our track record over many years of delivering unprecedented results of innovation, compassion, financial performance and the highest quality of services for the people and communities we serve.  We very much look forward to the opportunity of demonstrating this fantastic achievement to Mathew, as well hearing his own reflections on the challenges NHS mental health services face – both now and into the future.”

Mathew Taylor said:

“Of all the areas of importance and opportunity confronting the NHS and wider society at present, we know that mental health is right up there with the most pressing.  We have made great strides in recent times, but there is so much more we can and should be doing.  Combined Healthcare’s remarkable track record of continuous improvement, quality and innovation is second to none and I really look forward to helping celebrate and congratulate its staff, partners and leaders on the outstanding results they continue to achieve in the most difficult of circumstances.”
