NHS Staff Survey 2022 – the results are in and it’s another great year for Combined

The NHS Staff Survey 2022 results were published today – 9th March 2023.  Once again, Combined Healthcare achieved leading results and scores compared with its comparison cohort of mental health and learning disability Trusts.

More staff than ever before (69.2%) responded to the survey – which was the highest response rate of the entire cohort.

The staff at Combined delivered the best scores of the entire cohort in the two People Promise themes of ‘staff engagement’ and ‘staff morale’.

They also delivered the best scores of the entire cohort in the four People Promises of:

  • Recognition and reward;
  • Always learning;
  • Working flexibly; and
  • We are a team.

In the three other People Promises, the Trust scored very high results – only 0.1% below the best scoring cohort Trust:

  • Compassionate and inclusive;
  • a voice that counts; and
  • feeling safe and healthy

Welcoming the results, Dr Buki Adeyemo, Chief Executive at Combined, said:

“At Combined, we’ve always known that achieving something Outstanding for the first time is only the start of a journey. The real challenge is maintaining that achievement year on year.

“Exactly a year ago, it was both my pleasure and my privilege to share with you all the fantastic news that, in the national NHS Staff Survey, we had achieved some of the best results in the NHS across the People Promise.

Today, the results of the NHS Staff Survey 2022 are published. And once again, I’m really proud to tell you that our people have maintained that remarkable achievement.”

To coincide with the publication of the results, the Trust released a detailed video explanation from Paul Draycott Director of People, OD and Inclusion, of how we performed and where we will take action to address areas of concern highlighted by our staff.

“I think it’s safe to say that it’s been another great year. As you can see, we’ve had the highest response rate we’ve ever had as an organisation. So thank you for responding, giving us your voice, telling us what it’s actually like to work at Combined. We really appreciate it and it’ll help us now in terms of our next steps. Because there’s plenty of good things and plenty for us to improve on to make it an even better place to work.”
