Paul will be well known to many of Combined Healthcare’s staff, having previously served as the Trust’s Director of Leadership and Workforce for four years. As such, he was a key member of the Trust’s leadership team, which began Combined’s improvement journey Towards Outstanding.

Paul has over 35 years’ experience in the NHS, initially as a general nurse. He has workforce and organisational development experience across mental health, community, acute and commissioning and this is his fifth Director post. Paul has also recently served as the Hampshire and Isle of Wight lead for workforce inequalities and his long-standing track record and commitment to the inclusion agenda is particularly well-known and respected.

Paul said:

“I am delighted and really excited about being back at Combined with the many wonderful people and friends. It is a great place to be, as I know from experience, and I want to be able to support the ongoing journey.

“Thank you to Kerry Smith for her work and support as Acting Director of People, OD and Inclusion.”

Dr Buki Adeyemo, Interim Chief Executive, said:

“Having worked alongside Paul for many years at Combined as part of our Executive Team, I know just how effective, supportive and popular he is as a colleague, a leader and a role model for all our people. His return to Combined Healthcare is greeted with enormous pleasure and I know he will be warmly welcomed by staff at all levels of the Trust.”
