“We’re here for you” Combined emphasises for Mental Health Awareness Week

The NHS is here for you to support your mental health says Medical Director Dr Buki Adeyemo

Dr Adeyemo was speaking in a video released today as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.  In the video, she says:

“Particularly in this Covid era that we’re in, as important as it is to look after our physical health, we mustn’t forget that our mental health is equally important.

‘There are times when we might feel anxious.  These are unprecedented times.  If you are experiencing any difficulties whatsoever with your mental health, feeling anxious, feeling unsure, we’re open for business and we want to ensure you get the help you need.

“There are many options for you to get the help you need.  Your GP is available, the NHS 111 number and – if you live in North Staffordshire or Stoke-on-Trent – we have our 24×7 mental health crisis team.  You can self-refer, you don’t have to wait to see your GP to do that.  We’ll be here to help you.”

Dr Adeyemo also refers people to the Covid Support Guide for the local community, published last week by Combined Healthcare.  This can be accessed by clicking here.
