About the service
In April 2021, Project 86 established the Complex Care team, a joint enterprise between NSCHT (North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust) and MPFT (Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust) to commission locked door rehabilitation with independent providers, a function previously held by the CSU (Commissioning Support Unit).
This pathway relates to adult mental health patients from Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire who may require mental health rehabilitation inpatient services. These individuals will have a complex mental health problem whose needs cannot be met by general adult mental health services.
Inpatient rehabilitation will provide specialist assessment, treatment, interventions, and support to help people to recover from complex mental health problems and to (re)gain the skills and confidence to live successfully in the community. Providers will work in partnership with service users and carers, adopting a recovery orientation that places collaboration at the centre of all activities.
