The Clinical Neuropsychology service works with individuals from 18 years old and above. Our team comprises consultant clinical neuropsychologists, clinical neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists and assistant psychologists working across inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.
We provide assessment and intervention with people presenting with neurological conditions including brain tumour, stroke, multiple sclerosis, young onset dementia and Huntington’s disease, or people who have suffered a traumatic brain injury resulting from maybe a road traffic accident or fall.
We may offer cognitive testing, advice on strategies, invite you to a group or to watch a video to learn more about your condition and how to manage your symptoms, and/or one-to-one brief therapy input, depending on individual needs.
The neuropsychology team regularly undertakes service evaluation and research projects to gain patient feedback, improve our services and contribute to neuropsychological knowledge. We regularly supervise doctoral students to support their training to become qualified clinical psychologists and provide teaching at several universities.
Clients accessing the Neuropsychology Service are supported by the team to reach their potential through extensive assessment of their needs and abilities.
