Ward 7 is a 20-bedded mixed-sex ward which admits patients aged 65 and above who have a primary functional mental health problem. Ward 7 also provides support to people who are detained under the Mental Health Act.
Care on the ward is provided by consultants, other medical staff, a wide range of mental health nurses and healthcare support workers.
The team provides assessment, care and support for older people with functional mental health problems and works with community teams to ensure a safe and smooth transition at the point of discharge and to ensure that the right services will be provided at this stage.
