Funding secured for a new ecotherapy garden at Roundwell Place – celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week 2026

Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 is taking place this week, from Monday 9 to Sunday 15 February. This year, the theme is ‘This is My Place’ where young people, families, schools and communities are encouraged to create an environment that gives children and young people a sense of belonging to help young people feel safe, supported and connected.

In December 2025, our dedicated trust charity, Combined Charity, was delighted to be one of just 15 NHS charities awarded a grant through the NHS Charities Together Greener Communities Fund. This funding will help us create a brand-new eco‑therapy garden at Roundwell Place in Tunstall, home to our North Stoke child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) team. The garden will offer a calming, nature‑based space to support the wellbeing of the children, young people, families and staff who use and work in the service.

As this project develops, we are committed to ensuring that our garden is shaped by the people it is for. That means working closely and collaboratively with young people, staff, and local partners who share our passion for connecting people with nature.

We are especially keen to seek and welcome support from:

  • Local gardening and allotment groups
  • Wildlife and nature organisations
  • Community groups promoting biodiversity and outdoor wellbeing
  • Specialist organisations with expertise in eco‑friendly or therapeutic outdoor spaces

If you are part of a local group, organisation, or community initiative and would like to learn more or contribute to this exciting project, we would love to hear from you.
