Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2000

The Freedom of Information Act (FOI) 2000 provides a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities. Since January 2005, everyone has had the right to ask public authorities for any information they hold, although there are some exemptions that may prevent information being released.

The trust has established a procedure for dealing with requests for information under the Act which is set out in the booklet below:

Personal data request (subject access request)

Individuals have the right to access and receive a copy of their personal data, and other supplementary information. This is commonly referred to as a subject access request or ‘SAR’.
