Combined Charity golf day – 3 October

Combined Charity logo

Calling all keen golfers!

On Friday 3 October Trentham Park Golf Club will play host to a fantastic day of golf, great food and charitable giving in aid of Combined Charity, the dedicated charity of North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust.

The day is kindly supported by the golf club and Hugh James solicitors with the aim of raising funds and awareness of the fantastic work that is carried out by the Trust’s neuropsychiatry services across Harplands Hospital and the wider community.,

One of the key differences between this golf day and many others is that Trentham Park Golf Club has kindly offered to coach a group of individuals who have experienced and are living with a brain injury or neurological condition, preparing them to participate in the day itself. It is set to be a fantastic day, demonstrating and celebrating what can be achieved when we come together in support of rehabilitation, recovery and maximising independence.

There are a limited number of places remaining, and tickets include:

  • A delicious breakfast to start the day
  • A four-ball golf tournament (Stableford rules) on a beautiful course
  • A post-golf reception including a two-course meal and charity auction

Players will also be kept fuelled at the halfway house with an assortment of pastries from the Yorkshire Baker. Further information can be found in the flyer here and anyone wishing to submit a team can do so here.

If you are unable to attend the golf day but would like to support in another way or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at charity@combined.nhs.uk.

Colleagues pose for a photo at the Oliver McGowan training recruitment day
On Thursday 4 June 2026 Combined Healthcare hosted an Oliver McGowan Training Recruitment Day. The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death shone a light on the need for health and social care staff to have better training.  All colleagues at Combined Healthcare are required to complete the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism. To help facilitate the sessions, the Trust is looking to employ more experts with lived experience of autism or learning disability, to support this essential training as co-facilitators.
