North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust is celebrating the results of its yearly NHS Staff Survey.
The survey, which was carried out between September and November 2025, is one of the largest workforce surveys in the world and is carried out every year to improve staff experiences across the NHS.
The results of the NHS Staff Survey 2025 were released on 12 March 2026, providing feedback on the working environment from 65% of Trust staff who responded to the survey – a response rate over 9% higher than the average for a comparator group of similar Trusts, and Combined’s highest response rate since 2022.
Results are themed using the seven NHS People Promise areas; ‘we are compassionate and inclusive’, ‘we are always learning’, ‘we are safe and healthy’, ‘we each have a voice that counts’, ‘we are recognised and rewarded’, ‘we work flexibly’, ‘we are a team’, and the additional two themes of ‘staff engagement’ and ‘morale’.
The Trust’s overall results for all NHS People Promise themes are higher than the average for its comparator group and feature increased scores for ‘we are compassionate and inclusive’ and ‘staff morale’ since 2024, while all other scores have remained steady.

We are compassionate and inclusive: 7.8
We are always learning: 6.2
We are safe and healthy: 6.6
We each have a voice that counts: 7.1
We are recognised and rewarded: 6.7
We work flexibly: 7.1
We are a team: 7.3
Staff engagement: 7.3
Morale: 6.6
Scores are presented on a 0-10 scale and have been rounded.
The Trust also received positive responses from staff on whether they would recommend Combined Healthcare as a place to work and be happy with the standard of care provided by the Trust – if this were provided to a friend or relative. The Trust scored higher than its comparator group average for these areas, as well as on questions regarding whether staff feel the organisation takes positive action on health and wellbeing and whether they are unlikely to consider leaving the organisation soon.
Dr Buki Adeyemo, Chief Executive at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted with this year’s NHS Staff Survey results, it’s particularly exciting that the Trust’s overall results for all NHS People Promise themes are once again higher than the average for our comparator group.”
Buki continued: “However, the yearly NHS Staff Survey is one of our most valuable tools for gaining an insight into areas where improvements are needed too. The Trust Board have been reflecting on this year’s results and will keep colleagues throughout the organisation informed as we work to address any concerns raised through this year’s survey over the coming weeks and months.”
Buki added: “I would like to thank every Combined Healthcare colleague who took the time to complete the survey – each completed survey helps us to understand what is working well and how we can make the Trust an even better place to work.”
