Combined Healthcare named as finalist for two Leadership Awards 2023

North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust has been named as a finalist in two categories of the prestigious The Leadership Awards 2023, from the Institute of Leadership.

The trust has been nominated in the ‘Employee Wellbeing Award’ and ‘Leadership Excellence Award for Organisations’ categories in the forthcoming awards ceremony.

The trust’s Combined Coaching programme has been recognised as a finalist in the ‘Leadership Excellence Award for Organisations’ category. Led by Coaching Lead Julia Ford, Combined Coaching has had many successes including establishing a pool of 21 coaches at Combined Healthcare and 795 coaching culture modules accessed by trust staff.

Julia Ford commented: “It’s absolutely fantastic that we have been shortlisted in the ‘Leadership Excellence Award for Organisations’ category. I am delighted that we have been recognised as a trust that continues to develop and embed a coaching mentoring and culture, empowering individuals to acknowledge, to grow and maximise their potential both personally and professionally, and ultimately improving patient experience and care. It’s a privilege to get this far, and I really look forward to the ceremony taking place in November.”

Donna Cantrell, Associate Director, Acute and Urgent Care Directorate, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, is also a finalist in ‘Employee Wellbeing’ for her dedicated work on further improving employee wellbeing across the trust through initiatives such as the new Combined Voices staff choir and spotlight awards for directorate staff.

Donna Cantrell said: “Being part of North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust is phenomenal for many reasons; the trust strives for high quality, safe and effective patient care, and it embraces people, culture and development. For Combined Healthcare to be recognised for its amazing initiatives around staff wellbeing is testament to the importance this holds. This is not only to myself as a leader, but also to the trust in ensuring a clear message is heard that our staff are pivotal to the outstanding care delivered to our patients, and their health and wellbeing is fundamental to all that the trust does and achieves.”

Dr Buki Adeyemo, Chief Executive, North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, said: “It is fantastic to have two finalists for Combined Healthcare in these prestigious awards from the Institute of Leadership. Donna’s employee wellbeing initiatives not only for her own directorate but wider across the trust have quite rightly been recognised, and the success to date of our Combined Coaching programme has also been spotlighted which is truly deserved through the leadership of Julia Ford and the coaching team. Congratulations to all and we wish them good luck for the ceremony next month.”
