Digital resources taster session – Open to young adults with lived experience

The Preparing for Adulthood team are working with Community Mental Health Transformation Programme grant recipient Wavemaker to create digital resources which aid transition for young people from CAMHS to adult mental health services.

Do you work with any 16-25 year olds who have lived experience or who are currently receiving support from mental health services? Would they enjoy expanding their digital skillset and helping create bespoke resources to help other young people?

The Preparing for Adulthood team would love to invite them to attend this taster session at 3pm on Tuesday 10 October where they can be part of helping create these resources and adding their thoughts to the conversation. These resources will be implemented and offer support and guidance to young people moving from CAMHS to AMHS.

Ben McManus, CEO of Wavemaker, is looking forward to the session:

This is such an important topic and area and we want make sure we get it right. We can only do that with real input from those with lived experience.

We are really looking forward to this first session and we think it will be fun and engaging way to bring young adults on board to help shape a pathway to empower and inform others in their mental health journey.

Colleagues pose for a photo at the Oliver McGowan training recruitment day
On Thursday 4 June 2026 Combined Healthcare hosted an Oliver McGowan Training Recruitment Day. The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death shone a light on the need for health and social care staff to have better training.  All colleagues at Combined Healthcare are required to complete the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism. To help facilitate the sessions, the Trust is looking to employ more experts with lived experience of autism or learning disability, to support this essential training as co-facilitators.
