About the service

The Community Hospital Alcohol Team (CHAT) is based at the Edward Myers Unit.

The team works in close partnership with HALT Team from University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM), and other external agencies.

The team aims to support UHNM with:

continuing alcohol detoxifications from UHNM
supporting hepatology outpatient clinics
supporting frequent attenders that attend emergency portals at UHNM
support for individuals that require surgery and there is a need for reduction in alcohol intake
up to 12 weeks of psycho-social intervention
