The Paediatric Psychology Team provides a specialist psychological service to children and young people aged 0 to 18 years old and their parents and families where there are psychological issues related to acute or chronic physical illness or traumatic injury.
The team undertakes psychological assessment and intervention. They also work jointly with other professionals and agencies and provide support, consultation and training about psychological issues.

A small number of general paediatric referrals are also accepted from a range of other specialities.
The service covers North Staffordshire. Referrals are also accepted for out of area children and young people while they are inpatients/receiving medical care at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.
