Ward 7 is a 14-bed, mixed-sex unit providing specialist care for individuals aged 65 and over who are experiencing primary mental health difficulties. Admissions are accepted via referral from community mental health teams and may be informal or under the Mental Health Act.
We offer comprehensive assessment, treatment and support tailored to the needs of older adults. Our focus is on delivering compassionate, person-centred care within a safe and therapeutic environment.
Our care is delivered by a dedicated multidisciplinary team, which includes consultant psychiatrists, doctors, mental health nurses, general nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, healthcare support workers and other specialist Staff.
We maintain close partnerships with community services, including housing teams, care package providers and community nursing teams. This collaborative approach supports safe and timely discharge planning for all patients.
Together, we work collaboratively to ensure high standards of care and support for every individual on the ward.
