The Trust is pleased to announce the launch of patient assessor training as part of its Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) programme. PLACE assessments occur every year to ensure the environment in which care is delivered is maintained at a suitable standard.
The Trust is proud of the outstanding facilities and sites it provides, which contribute to a high standard of good quality care for the service users.
Patient assessors are local people who visit hospitals as part of teams to assess how the environment supports the provision of clinical care and to ensure that all the Trust’s in-patient areas are at the expected standard. The Trust is looking for patient assessors to significantly contribute to the assessment this year and is running patient assessor training.
Anne Melville, Head of Facilities at Combined NHS Trust, recognises the importance of training patient assessors for the PLACE assessment:
“At the Trust we are proud of our facilities and sites, including the year-on-year improvements we see through the PLACE assessment. The feedback we receive from our patient assessors greatly contributes to the standard of our facilities and it is so valuable for us when looking at ensuring our facilities are functioning at the best standard possible.”
The training will take part on Wednesday 27 September at 11:30am on the Harplands Hospital site, Hilton Road, ST4 6RR. Upon arrival, please report to the main reception and ask for Anne Melville, Head of Facilities.
There is an additional training slot which has been scheduled for Thursday 5th October at 10.00am at the Harplands.
If you would like to attend the training or require further information about the Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) assessor training, please contact Anne on anne.melville@combined.nhs.uk.
