RMNs work closely with people with various mental health conditions to help them recover from their illness or in order to assist them in leading a fulfilling life, despite having on-going symptoms of a long-term mental disorder.
Our nurses show effective communication, interpersonal skills, empathy, self-awareness, compassion and critical self-reflection. Additionally self-motivated and value highly the principles of the recovery approach and the engagement of service users in planning their care. Due to the sometimes stressful nature of this work we have a commitment to clinical supervision. In return the trust has a strong commitment to the personal and professional development of our staff: We provide a robust induction programme, support, individual appraisal, preceptorship, mentorship, clinical/ managerial supervision and ongoing training
