About the service

Ward 4 is a 15-bed nursing assessment ward for older people with dementia. The team provides comprehensive assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for people aged 65 or over who have been clinically assessed as suffering from an acute or complex functional or organic mental illness and cannot safely receive assessment or be treated at home or within a community setting.

The ward focuses on providing a comprehensive assessment of patients’ needs following an inpatient stay at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
