We know that everyone is united in this challenge. Frontline staff and support staff. Staff working on our wards and people working throughout our community teams. Permanent staff and bank. Service users, carers and volunteers. We are ALL in this together and we want to highlight, support and recognise everyone

I would like to praise our wonderful team at the Moorlands CMHT. The last two weeks have seen our team pull together like never before. It’s been an uncertain, scary and difficult time. We have been worried for our patients and each other. Many have had to self-isolate but worked their socks off at home even though it’s been challenging with the system overload, many have worked outside the normal hours to complete the work. The remaining staff have worked above and beyond to deliver the community essential care. All the time I’m hearing “I wish I could come to work” “is there anything else I can do to help?” Never once hearing a moan or a grumble (not counting Lorenzo moans!). We’ve had one staff member redeployed to ward 7 to help with the poorly Covid-19 patients on the front line. And if we all have to follow suit then so be it we are healthcare professionals -patients first. We’ve found a complete new way of working. One member of staff has set up a lunchtime gathering via Teams so we can catch up as we normally would each day. This is vital to our working relationships and to keep each other going. Everyone in the team is a very unique part of the wheel and we all need each other. All the while continuing to laugh and be as daft as ever. This I hope will strengthen us after a very uncertain past two years. I love my job, my team and my patients and I’m lucky enough to be able to go to work. I am super proud of everyone in my team and the NHS as a whole. We’ve got this! I will certainly be organising one hell of a night out for us after this! X
