The Coronavirus challenge is bigger than anything most of us will have faced in our working lives. But the bigger the challenge, the greater are the heroes and heroines who rise to it.

We are proud at Combined Healthcare of the values of compassion and teamwork that drive what we do and who we are.  We want everyone who works for us and with us to have the opportunity to show solidarity, appreciation and gratitude for each other – for the things we do, for the extra mile we go, for the compassion we show.

We know that everyone is united in this challenge.  Frontline staff and support staff.  Staff working on our wards and people working throughout our community teams.  Permanent staff and bank.  Service users, carers and volunteers.  We are ALL in this together and we want to highlight, support and recognise everyone

Ward 7

After completing 5 straight nightshifts on ward 7 I can only say in these challenging difficult times, I have experienced true teamwork efficiency. Having never worked on ward 7 in all my 4 years at combined. I was apprehensive and a 'tiny lot' scared. Given the current situation I felt like I was walking into a nightmare. The minute I walked on the ward I was met with enormous warmth and care by different members of staff that indeed were also varied team members from other wards and areas. We felt like we were all thrown together and immediately formed a caring team bond. We were all here, and in this together. Jayne cofferty a regular member of staff ensured we were looked after, she went above and beyond to provide excellent care to the patients but also the team too. Jayne has underlying health conditions including copd yet she turned up full of enthusiasm every single night. No job was too much. The nursing staff from the day shift looked completely exhausted yet they still asked how we were, and made sure we all had a brew during handover. As a student TNA and I have experienced resilience and extreme compassion in the last 5 nightshifts than I have in the past 18 months on placement.
I feel honoured, privileged and extremely proud to be working on ward 7 in these current circumstances.
