The Coronavirus challenge is bigger than anything most of us will have faced in our working lives. But the bigger the challenge, the greater are the heroes and heroines who rise to it.

We are proud at Combined Healthcare of the values of compassion and teamwork that drive what we do and who we are.  We want everyone who works for us and with us to have the opportunity to show solidarity, appreciation and gratitude for each other – for the things we do, for the extra mile we go, for the compassion we show.

We know that everyone is united in this challenge.  Frontline staff and support staff.  Staff working on our wards and people working throughout our community teams.  Permanent staff and bank.  Service users, carers and volunteers.  We are ALL in this together and we want to highlight, support and recognise everyone

Theresa Wilson

Theresa volunteered to support ward 4 during the first wave of Covid-19 and showed exceptional leadership qualities and led from the front demonstrating excellent resilience and determination to overcome the Covid-19 outbreak on the ward. Theresa supported the ward for a few months and as she left promised that should we find ourselves in the same situation she would be back in a heart beat, clearly putting the ward and the team before any risk!

Fast forward to the second wave and what has appeared to impact the older person inpatient services significantly Theresa Wilson was once again banging on the ward 4 door to come and share her invaluable experience, leadership and expertise to do whatever she can to support her Trust colleagues in overcoming another incredibly difficult period. She arrived at a time when the ward staff were already exhausted and struggling to achieve even skeleton staffing numbers and the effect she had instantly in boosting morale and team spirit was incredible and a reminder of why many of us chose to work in this sector. I can't thank Theresa enough and ward 4 will forever be in her debt! The world needs more Theresas!
